Savannah State’s Eleik Bowles selected to play in HBCU All-Star Game

Savannah State senior shooting guard Eleik Bowles has earned a spot in the third ever HBCU All-Star Game, according to a press release from HBCU ALL-Stars Inc.

The HBCU All-Star Game, set for Sunday, Apr. 14 in Glendale, Arizona at Grand Canyon University, chose 24 players from HBCUs across the nation for this year's roster.

The game aired live on CBS at 4 p.m. EST and is available for streaming on Paramount+.

Composed of the best basketball players in the HBCU Division I and Division II NCAA conferences, the 24 selections are split into two teams of 12. Both teams are named after a pair of HBCU legends —Team Willis Reed versus Team Dick Barnett.

Bowles was placed on Team Dick Barnett which will feature players from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). His teammates come from inter-conference opponents Tuskegee and Morehouse. The Division I schools feature Norfolk State, Morgan State, North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T.

“It was a great honor being able to represent Savannah State on a big stage like this,” Bowles said. I hope that going forward that the school gets a player in this game every year because it is one of the coolest experiences I have ever been a part of.”
